There is such a mystique about wearing something relatively fragile that has survived a journey though the elements...sand, waves, salt water, and rocks...coming back altered, but better for the experience. Far, far, far away, a long, long, extremely long time ago there was a pageant for Queen of Maryland Blvd.
All the neighborhood girls competed in a talent swim suit contest for the title of Miss Maryland Blvd.
One of the judges name was Betty Lou.
(yes the Same Betty Lou that won the drawing.)
You can see her in the picture crowning me with my bed spread robe, and tin foil tiara.
Well, everything was fine until all realized that Betty Lou is my sister...
So to make sure no one claims that I used favoritism, I have chosen Two Winners.
That was the end of Betty Lou's judging career, and of course I did no more pageants.
